Depuis maintenant une demi-douzaine d’années, je veille sur les enregistrements originaux de Josée-Anne. L’album Sweet Sorrow a eu le temps de mûrir et a pris toute sa forme au travers d’un deuil qui vient à aboutissement avec ce lancement.
J’aimerais remercier toutes les personnes de la communauté qui ont donné de leur temps et de leur argent pour ce projet. Je pense particulièrement aux grands alliés de Josée-Anne au tout début de l’aventure : Daniel Violette qui a offert son expertise en studio et le talentueux musicien Philippe Bouchard qui a travaillé sans relâche aux côtés de Jo pour donner vie à ces dix chansons.
Merci aux nombreux musiciens qui ont participé et à Hugo Roussel du studio Back in the Day, pour votre apport envers la continuation de la voie de Josée-Anne. Merci à Frédéric et à Alexandre Dionne pour avoir accepté de prêter deux compositions. Je tiens à saluer mon admiration et mon humilité face à ce que vous savez faire avec les mots. Un merci très spécial à André Picard pour son professionnalisme en studio et pour la qualité de son travail. Sa virtuosité et sa générosité prouvent à nouveau pourquoi il est l’un des artistes les plus respectés de notre région.

For half a decade now, I have carried Josée-Anne's original recordings close to my heart. Over this time, Sweet Sorrow has had the space to mature, finding its final form through a journey of grief that now reaches its quiet fulfillment with this release.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone in the community who generously contributed their time, support, and resources to bring this project to light. I think especially of Josée-Anne's greatest allies from the very beginning: Daniel Violette, who lent his invaluable studio expertise, and the talented musician Philippe Bouchard, who worked closely alongside Jo. Together, they poured their hearts into giving life to these ten songs.
Thank you to the many musicians who played a part, and to Hugo Roussel at Back in the Day studio, for your vital contribution to continuing Josée-Anne’s path. I also wish to thank Frédéric Dionne and Alexandre Dionne for graciously lending two of their compositions. I hold the deepest admiration and humility for the magic you create with words. A very special thank you to André Picard for his professionalism in the studio and the exceptional quality of his work. His virtuosity and generosity prove once again why he is one of the most respected artists in our region.
